Where do tithes and offerings go?

When you give, whether online or in person, we do our best to steward all finances wisely. "Tithes" are generaly designated to the general fund, which pays for all of the monthly expenses the church has including; all utilities, subscription dues and memberships, as well as the pastor's salary. When you make an "Offering," (which is an amount of money seperate of a tithe donation,) that money goes wherever you designate it to go to. We currently have a few places for offerings to be designated to. The general fund, new windows for the church building, coffee/missionaries, samaritans purse items, and samaritans purse shipping.

"Church building windows" donations will all be set aside specifically for the purchase and installation of new windows in the church building. This building that Calvary Chapel of the Palouse currently resides was built in 1960. The windows are original to the building, and are in need of being replaced to help us be more engergy efficient, and help cut monthly energy costs. We have decided to open up this designated area so we can make these updates without going into debt.

"Coffee and missionaries"  Proceeds from offerings that are given in exchange for an italian soda, latte, breve, americano etc. that one of the CCOP barista's makes you by order on Sunday, are designated to our missionaries is Mexico and Jordan. You are also free to give an offering to the missions without recieving a specialty drink and 100% of that donation goes towards missions.

"Samaritan's purse Item" if you would like to give an offering to be used for items that go into the opperation christmas child boxes, samaritan's purse item is where you will designate your offering to. If you signed up for a particular item to be purchased but you do not wish to do the shopping yourself, please write in the memo of your check or on the envelope of your cash offering what item is to be purchased with your donation.

"Samaritan's Purse Shipping" If you wish to pledge a monthly amount or a large lump sum to cover the cost of shipping boxes, please designate your offering to "samaritan's purse shipping." You may sign up to ship any amount of boxes you wish. This year's goal is to ship 200 boxes. That means if you want to pay to ship 10 boxes you will pledge $100 towards shipping. You are free to give that offering for the total amount or you can break it up into monthly segments of about $9/month for a $100 (10box) pledge.

Please forgive the secton of the online giving form that is hard to read. In the yellow box, below all of the designated accounts, there is a checkbox where you can opt to pay for the card processing fees of your donation. We do appriciate everyone who pays their own processing fees as this does cut the costs for the church, but it is by no means required.

Ways to Give

Our God is "Jehovah Jireh," the God who provides. Because He so graciously provides us with all of our needs and blesses us beyond those needs, we are called to be generous in return. When we humbly submit before the Lord and joyfully give back what is already His, we bring before Him a willingness to invest in His Kingdom to further His purpose and to help others come to know Him and find salvation through His everlasting grace. The standard by which we should give should be based on what we have, not what we do not have. In 2 Corinthians 8: 12-14 the scriptures say, "Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don't have. Of course, I don't mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves..."  Thank you for partnering with us in our mission to spread God's love. Every coin counts!
